@ user1738154 tarafından verilen geçici çözüm benim için beklendiği gibi çalışmadı, bu yüzden devam ettik ve HomeBrew kullanarak GDAL'ı kurduktan sonra sanal ortamıma pip kullanıyorum.

$ brew install gdal 
    (venv)$ pip install GDAL 

Her şey derlenmiş ve bir çekicilik gibi koştu.
